The posings of a poet.

Renaissance

There
  was a ship
 wrecked
      on a
         reef
But there
   the captain
        found
            relief
For another
      captain
          was
             stranded there
Who had
      a ship
         made just
              for air
And had been
       grounded
    by
      a cloud
For many
     a year
       and
   was not
         proud
“Let the
     two of us
        contrive
to combine
     our ships
    and so
        survive.”
It seemed
      the perfect
           thing
        to do
So they
    began
   and soon
      there grew
A ship
   of beauty
        love
   and
        might
It could
  sail by day
       and
  fly by night
Very quickly
    almost
       right away
They could’ve
    sailed
 but
    instead they’d
            stay
For it
    became
  a matter
      of some
          rancor
How to
   sail
    with
so many
     an anchor
So together
   they did
        decide
To stay
    right there
 and
     ride
        the tide
So they’d
   sail
    and
  fly
      high above
But
  couldn’t
        leave
      because of
                        love
