The posings of a poet.

Degrees of Desire

Cold coffee - hot coffee

(Photo: Catherine Kolodziej (Calyon))

Some like it hot
Some like it cold
Some like it in the pot nine days old
In the winter it’s best hot
In the summer it’s best cold
You are beyond desperate for it nine days old
Sleeves to keep it hot
Ice to keep it cold
Running late to the airport leaves it nine days old
Crema floats when hot
Syrups blends when cold
What is that green stuff when it’s nine days old
I say I like it hot
You say you like it cold
We agree to drink it up before it’s nine days old
