The Universe’s Flower Children
What if our souls are like a bouquet
With petals we scatter along this life’s way
We think we hold an indivisible soul
When what we give away is what makes us whole
What if we’re meant to have only stems left
By giving our souls when another’s bereft
And they in turn learn to pass on the bloom
Until the world becomes a heady perfume
What if when death comes his appointment to keep
There are just tears of joy left to weep
For we have each become some other’s boon
As their life path with our souls we have strewn
What if we’re attendants of the Divine Bride
Whom we celebrate when our souls coincide
We prepare the way when of ourselves we give
A floral path that can’t wither, but eternally live
